I 've been creating beautiful and functional spaces in the Washington, D.C. area for nearly two decades, bringing integrity, passion, and energy to every project, large and small. My design philosophy is simple: to help you create a space you love, with equal parts style and functionality. My client relationships center on trust and respect with attention to individual resources and lifestyles.
I’m skilled in space planning, new construction and renovation, kitchen and bath design, color-palette selection, furniture selection, and project management. I can provide a range of services from brief, concise consultations to complex project management.
Here’s how I can best serve you:
Let’s put our heads together to make your home exactly as you envision, room by room, from selecting wall color, new furniture, and accent pieces to choosing
Perhaps you have a bigger vision in mind--a new bathroom or kitchen,
a family room addition, or a brand-new custom home. I can lead your project from start to finish (or anywhere in between) by designing the layout, selecting materials, and managing contractors and craftsman. I can advise you on where to begin and questions to ask contractors. I also can provide a complete Scope of Work to provide contractors involved in the bidding process.
and placing lighting. I can help you edit your current rooms and figure out how to use existing pieces you love simply by rearranging and repurposing. I will come in, discuss your goals, take measurements, and provide you with a detailed shopping list complete with suggestions for sizes, fabrics, colors, finishes, and resources. It’s that easy.
Or, maybe you've selected a professional for your large project but need
the benefit of another set of eyes before you take the plunge. There are
many design elements that architects and contractors don't always consider
and you may never think of, such as:
- Where does the natural light enter your home? How many and what type of windows will you need to capture peak natural light?
- Is each room designed with a focal point in mind? Is each large enough to accommodate the furniture plan and traffic flow?
- Does the ceiling treatment, such as coffered or wood beams visually maximize the ceiling height?
-
Does the lighting plan provide light in the right places, and create a warm inviting glow? Does it highlight your favorite artwork?

" I love Stefani's sense of style. After seeing her work, I corralled her to fix my dated home. She took dark rooms and masterfully recreated them with new lighting, paint color, architectural changes, and furniture. She will work with your budget, and can oversee, consult, or directly take control shortcutting hours of your time with her expertise. She has so many ideas that just keep flowing from the minute she walks through the door. I loved working with her. "

" Over the past several years I have hired Stefani for numerous projects and I think she is just fantastic. She has impeccable taste, a gentle manner, she’s a good listener, and she works seamlessly with contractors. I also appreciate Stefani’s thoughtfulness in considering targeted budgets. She will often suggest options at different price points and will provide an honest assessment of available choices. "
